Abstract

This thesis explores the international telecommunication marketplace by examining the method France used for competing in it. The thesis asserts the hypothesis that France used the paternalistic model through nationalization of select telecommunication companies and the banking industry to her disadvantage. The results revealed that nationalization did create implementation problems for Frances1 telecommunication industry. A final analysis revealed that nationalization and government assistance did aid France in her endeavor to successfully compete in the international telecommunications marketplace.
