    Abstract
This session is presented by Dave Fagundes, the Baker Botts LLP Professor of Law and the Research Dean at the University of Houston Law Center. It covers the basics of the federal Copyright Act and major judicial interpretations, including what works are protected, what acts are infringing, when unauthorized use may be permitted, and what common misunderstandings about copyright law to avoid.
