Abstract
ICU patients have severely impaired mobility due to the severity of their condition and medical equipment. Research has shown that turning patients routinely decreases the incidence of pressure ulcers. Wearable patient sensors placed on patients at admission have been found to better hold nurses more accountable to reposition patients adequately. Therefore, this device better prevents pressure ulcers during the duration of an ICU patient’s stay.
