MetadataShow full item record
With the rise of the internet and centralization of monster data companies, such as Google and Facebook, have we as a society become careless with our privacy, and how might this affect our well being? This investigation illuminates the exponential growth of Google and Facebook, socio-political crises related to online privacy and security, mental and psychological health, as well as an analysis of data usage by demographic groups. From the data found, one can conclude that the overall mental health of the nation, predominately amongst young people, has been in a constant decline relative to the growth of these major companies. Using a guerrilla approach, the design employs a temporary, reusable, deployable space for college campuses to spread awareness of privacy and the risks of excessive data usage.
