Abstract
Bi2Te3 has been investigated as anode material for Na-ion batteries because of its high theoretical capacity. However, during sodiation and de-sodiation processes, volume change causes particle fracture which reduces the contact of the active material and thus lower capacity. Using carbon as a shield for Bi2Te3 could enhance the electrochemical properties. Bare Bi2Te3 electrode delivers a special capacity of 546 mAhg-1 but the capacity fades fast. After introduction of carbon, the electrochemical performances of Bi2Te3/C electrode are much improved.
