Abstract
Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) is one of the most common therapies for prostate cancer. IMRT’s goal is to kill the tumor while sparing nearby healthy organs (bladder, rectum and femoral heads). Multiple clinical objectives and time-consuming trial-and-error techniques lead to inefficiency and suboptimal parameter selection process. Inverse optimization determined fewer objectives and weights that generate clinically acceptable treatments for prostate cancer.
