Abstract

An experimental technique for conducting fluidized bed differential thermal analysis (DTA) was tested and shown to be suitable for quantitative determination of the kinetic parameters of certain chemical reactions of solids. Essential features of the fluidized bed DTA apparatus include a fluidized bed heat bath, fluidized DTA cells and a standard DTA unit for temperature programming and measurement. A number of DTA curves for the dehydration of calcium oxalate monohydrate were obtained with the equipment.
