Abstract
This study was conducted to examine the content and patterns of training programs for public school guidance counselors in Texas, with particular attention to distribution of emphasis and content of procedures. Texas institutions utilized in this study were limited to predominantly white, state-supported institutions which were actively participating in public school guidance counselor training programs in the 1962-63 academic year. The content and patterns of counselor-education programs of Texas institutions as a group was analyzed comparatively with the content and patterns of counselor-education programs of selected 'Best' institutions, nationwide, as a group.
