Abstract

I. THE PROBLEM. Statement of the problem. The major objective of thio study la to develop a more efficient criterion of an "accident prone driver". By the following method: 1. personally interviewing experts in the field of accident prevention to acquire inforaation concerning important factors involved in causing accidents. 2. surveying the literature on accident proneness. 3. bringing together important factors on a questionnaire for the purpose of rating each factor in order of importance. 4. sending this questionnaire to 500 safety directors for rating purposes. 5. statistically analysing these ratings and developing a continuum which may later be utilised in developing a point from which deviations may be designated for accident prone individuals.
