Item A Q-sort study of the effect of a counseling practicum on the self-concept of a selected group of counselors-in-preparation at the University of Houston(1969) Ginn, Robert John; Carmical, Laverne L.; Austin, Addie E.; Moore, Alfred H.; Stovall, Franklin L.I. PROBLEM. The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not the self-concept of the counselor-in-preparation was changed by participation in a counseling practicum. This dissertation also examined the ideal self-concept of the counselor-in-preparation and the counselor educator's concept of the counselor-in-preparation. Another factor investigated by this study was whether or not the counselors-in-preparation became more similar to each other. II. PROCEDURE. This study was limited to the fifteen counselors-in-preparation who participated in the 1968 Summer Counseling Practicum of the College of Education of the University of Houston.
